MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
This Memorandum of Understanding is by and between the Greater Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce (the "Chamber") and the World Trade Society of Chattanooga ("WTSC"), to be effective December -, 2004.
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to acknowledge the partnership between the Chamber and the WTSC to promote trade and commerce between Chattanooga and the world.
II. MISSION OF THE CHAMBER
To create a vibrant business environment through leadership that stimulates new business development and existing business growth, resulting in a higher standard of living and a better quality of life for the community.
III. MISSION OF THE WTSC
The purpose of this Society shall be to act as a service window for coordination with related governmental agencies, businesses, and cultural/trade associations both domestic and international to further business relationships between the greater Chattanooga area and the world.
IV. RECOGNITION OF INTENT BETWEEN THE CHAMBER AND THE WTSC
. The Chamber and the WTSC work together in creative and cooperative efforts to build and promote international economic development for Chattanooga area businesses
. The WTSC develops and promotes the free flow of information between Chattanooga entities and international organizations by bringing together leaders in the international sectors of business, government, and academia
. The Chamber promotes WTSC events and services with the intent of serving in a combined effort with the WTSC in improving the greater Chattanooga area's economy
. The WTSC assists in the finding of informational resource networks and solutions for Chamber members and others with the intent of serving in a combined effort with the Chamber in improving the greater Chattanooga area's economy
. The Chamber and the WTSC work together to serve to serve and fulfill the greater Chattanooga area's international business and trade initiatives
V. TERM
Although neither party desires to set a specific term, this Memorandum of Understanding shall continue in effect until terminated by either party upon 90 days' written notice.

This will be accomplished through technical assistance, advocacy, education, public and private partnerships, and facilitating access to resources for the betterment of the total community.
